CDFL Opens 2010 Season on 7/11/09, Player registration reduced to $250

Attention all players - CDFL begins on Sunday 7/11! New League sponsor allows for reduction registration fee to $250 per player for the season. All new players are to report for registration at 4:30 pm on Sunday to get Uniforms. Call 845-445-3500, Be part of it in 2010 !!!!

The CDFL will open season 2 on Sunday 7/11/2010 as the Westchester Nighthawks face the Rockland Rattlers at the St. Lawrence Sports complex in Hillburn New York . Kick-off is scheduled for 6:30 pm. The Game will be Televised on the Verizon network Public Access.

All players are required to attend league assignment day on THURSDAY July 8, 2010 from 4:30 -6 pm at the St. Center in Hillburn. Equipment sizing ,game jerseys, player photos, and player agreement / final registration fees will be handled. At 6 pm the players will depart for a 7 on 7 / full scrimmage vs NJ Hawks in Palisades park NJ beginning at 7 pm.

CDFL chooses BeRecruited.com as it “OFFICIAL” player recruit site

On Friday 1/29/09, the Advisory board of the Collegiate Development Football League unanimously voted to name BeRecruited.com(http://go.berecruited.com/12098) as its “OFFICIAL” site for CDFL players to utilize in the recruiting process both before, and after, their CDFL experience. CDFL President, Peter St . Lawrence made the announcement following a three hour meeting in which six sites were evaluated from the standpoint of which would best serve the players needs, and meet the quality criteria standards established by the league. The three finalist were BeRecruited, Stack, and Prepchamps. Peter St. Lawrence announced in a written league press release that,” BeRecruiited has established itself as the industry leader in recruiting websites. They have a quality format and a commitment to showcase players through a comprehensive, informative, data based platform”.

So you want to know what it takes to play in the CDFL ? Are you a Casper Violette? read on and see if you stack up to his dedication and determination to play the greatest game known to mankind – FOOTBALL !

Casper Violette- Breaking away

This is Casper Violette, in his 8^th football season, his passion for the game has led him to play every position during his career to date, and I literally mean every position, he has experienced them all. His versatility is matched in the scoring department, having scored in every way possible on the football field.

He currently starts at LB, WR ,PK, and Punter for the Blacksburg Bruins (Virginia). In his first 3 games this season he has eight receptions for 126 yards on offense, 19.5 recorded tackles on defense with one for loss and one interception. He leads the Bruins in scoring with 34 points on, 3 TD’s, 2 FG’s and 10 extra points.

Casper is a serious player as evidenced from his success as runner up in the 2008 Iron Man Competition at Blacksburg High school, missing top honors by 2 points!!.

Casper shared his outlook on football with the CDFL staff, his quote says it all, “Football is a gateway in my life, it allows me to escape the everyday frustrations and allows me to clear my mind. Football consumes most of my life after the season is over I work out all off season until the season starts again. Without football I wouldn’t be who I am today, football teaches you many life lessons whether you realize it or not. Football has built my character into what it is today”.

Casper Violette - are you ready?

Casper shared his view of the Collegiate Development Football League, during the interview for this article, ;“I think the CDFL program is a great idea, the concept of a league after high school to get hopeful college football players a second chance is a dream come true. In reading through the coaching staffs bios it looks like a well run and great program that can only make football players better than when they came into it. The website is great and easy to use and very informative. The info section provides you with everything you need to know about the coaches and staff and the great facility they have. The site also has a video link they have made for there program which makes you excited to be a part of”.

Casper has strong family ties to Virginia Tech, a brother Caleb, is a kicker attending Va Tech, his parents and grandfather also are Virginia Tech grads. His top college choices are East Carolina University, Virginia Tech, or the University of South Carolina. The mission is simple yet bold, to provide a second chance to make a first impression on the college recruiters searching for football talent. We are fully committed to providing every opportunity for players to have success in this league and beyond. We are looking for players who are serious and committed, ultimately the engine that drives players to greatness is the desire from within, but that desire can only be fed with an opportunity to play! The CDFL provides that chance and supports it with, experienced coaches, dedicated staff and superior facilities. The CDFL provides an unprecedented approach to player skill assessments: from the mini- camp combine, to the CDFL draft, to wide open games, to academic and recruitment tools.
