Chad Coleman - Gotcha! !

Congratulations and good luck to Chad Coleman ( CDFL recruit) in the up coming Jan 17, 2009 Border Bowl all-star game which pits the top high school football players from Tennessee vs. the top players from Kentucky.  Chad is an outstanding player bound for a  future in football beyond high school.  As a 6′1″ 220 pound linebacker he runs a 4.6 40 yrd. dash. with a bench of 350,  and Squat of 425.  He had 109 tackles this season and has been a starter started since freshman year.   He was captain of his team for 3 years and is an all-state player in Tennessee .  Chad is on our CDFL top recruit list and we wish him well in the big game and in all of his future football endeavors.

The “official” Collegiate  Development Football League recruiting season begins on Tuesday January 6,  2009, which is exactly 6 months from the  CDFL mini-camp/tryout.   The interest continues to grow for this new second chance league designed exclusively for 18 - 24 year-old players.  Tuesdays, for the next 6 months, will be the primary contact night for recruits who want information about the league.  Coaches will be making contacts and receiving calls in the evenings from 7-9pm EST. All players who need information are invited to  send an email to the league at playcdfl@gmail.com with your contact phone number included.  We will give you a call to answer questions, and to discuss the CDFL football league and your future as a member.

Remember: 8 teams, 200 players, 1 dream- Take your second shot to make that first impression. Be part of the CDFL beginning in July , 2009

The Collegiate Development Football League is pleased to announce a second “open tryout/ Clinic” will be held in the bubble at the league headquarters in Hillburn , New York in February.  The date will be either the 2/21 (Sat) or 2/22 (Sun) .  The date will be finalized shortly.  All participates in the first tryout are eligible to attend at no cost , just bring your CDFL issued gear.  All first time attendees are asked to email a confirmation to the league.

The details of the tryout are as follows; All 18-24 year old football players are invited to attend.  Players will receive a free  CDFL T-shirt and a 10% discount coupon toward the league registration fee. Please email your name to playCDFL@gmail.com if you plan to attend.  Clinic Registration fee is $20 and will be applied toward registration fee for attendees who to register in the CDFL.  Skill assessments will be conducted in 40 yard dash, vertical leap, shuttle run as well as specific skill by position drills . Players should arrive in workout gear .  The surface is synthetic turf.  Driving directions are on the CDFL website.

Round one of the CDFL recruitment process is a success due to the dedicated , focused and serious players who attended the December 13,  2009 open tryout/clinic.

“Tonight, at a quite venue in Hillburn, New York, young men with a vision, a dream, and a faith in the CDFL, stepped up, by putting their football skills to the test”. states  CDFL co -founder , George St. Lawrence.  “I am very proud of these players and excited  about what they have to contribute to the league”.  They all gained from the experience and opened the eyes of the coaching staff with their abilities and positive attitudes.   The coaching talk following the tryout centered on the excellent talent level of the players who participated.   The CDFL “draft day” is 7 months away,  but the coaches already have draft day notes tucked away!!!  Thanks to all staff , coaches and players who made this tryout/clinic a success.
