The great game of football was honored, In a classic hard fought game between the CDFL and UVM football teams on Sunday, September, 20th, in Burlington Vermont. The CDFL scored first 0n a 22 yd Touchdown pass from Anthony Carillo to Willie Calhoun. Later in the first quarter the Catamounts of UVM capped a 65 yard scoring Drive ith a 3 yard touchdown run to take a 7-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. The onlye score of the second quarter was a 27 yard Field Goal by the UVM to make the score 10-6 at the half. Defensively the CDFL was lead by Anthony Vechione, and Jarid Valenti with 6 first first half tackles each. The third quarter saw Vermont add to its lead following an interception return inside the CDFL 20. The CDFL defense held the Catamounts to another Field Goal to make the score 13-6 at the end of the 3 td quarter. With 9 minutes remaining Tyrone Landrum fielded a Vermont punt on the 24 yard line and raced 76 yards for the second CDFL touchdown of the day. Following the TD , QB Colin Doyle hit Willie Calhoun for a 2 pont conversion pass that proved to be the game winner as the Elite took a 14-13 lead. Vermont went to the air in the remaining minutes, but 2 key interceptions by Randy Burnett sealed the victory for the CDFL.
