Congratulations and good luck to CDFL wide-receiver, Chris Kears #85 of the Rockland Rattlers who has earned a walk-on tryout at the University of Maryland. The tryout is scheduled for September 8, 2009 in College Park. Kears was a standout receiver this season for the pass oriented Rockland Rattlers of the CDFL. CDFL co- founder and Offensive Coordinator, Peter St. Lawrence states, “Kears has the physical attributes at 6’1″,195, with excellant speed and precision route execution, to continue his CDFL success at the collegiate level. We wish him much luck and the support of the CDFL goes with him.”
Chris is a graduate of Brick memorial High School in 2008, where he was an All-Shore Academic Athlete. He attended Ocean Community College prior to his enrollment as a student at the University of Maryland. Chris has worked hard to get to this point . He credits the efforts to his personal trainer, Mr. Ronnie Mustacchio, of thge EDGE training center in Easttown, Long Branch, N.J for his improved strength, speed and endurance in preperation for his CDFL season. Chris was asked about his most memorable CDFL experience he stated the friendships made during the CDFL mini-camp and of course the game days. Summer Sunday nights have never been so fun.
Chris is the youngest son of Bert and Cherylee Kears. the family resides Brick Township, N.J. Chris has an brother, Bert and a sister Allison. The entire Kears family and the CDFL family are proud of the opportunity achieved by Chris.
