Casper Violette- Breaking away
This is Casper Violette, in his 8th football season, his passion for the game has led him to play every position during his career to date, and I literally mean every position, he has experienced them all. His versatility is matched in the scoring department, having scored in every way possible on the football field.
He currently starts at LB, WR ,PK, and Punter for the Blacksburg Bruins (Virginia). In his first 3 games this season he has eight receptions for 126 yards on offense, 19.5 recorded tackles on defense with one for loss and one interception. He leads the Bruins in scoring with 34 points on, 3 TD’s, 2 FG’s and 10 extra points.
Casper is a serious player as evidenced from his success as runner up in the 2008 Iron Man Competition at Blacksburg High school, missing top honors by 2 points!!.
Casper shared his outlook on football with the CDFL staff, his quote says it all, “Football is a gateway in my life, it allows me to escape the everyday frustrations and allows me to clear my mind. Football consumes most of my life after the season is over I work out all off season until the season starts again. Without football I wouldn’t be who I am today, football teaches you many life lessons whether you realize it or not. Football has built my character into what it is today”.

Casper shared his view of the Collegiate Development Football League, during the interview for this article, ;“I think the CDFL program is a great idea, the concept of a league after high school to get hopeful college football players a second chance is a dream come true. In reading through the coaching staffs bios it looks like a well run and great program that can only make football players better than when they came into it. The website is great and easy to use and very informative. The info section provides you with everything you need to know about the coaches and staff and the great facility they have. The site also has a video link they have made for there program which makes you excited to be a part of”.

Casper has strong family ties to Virginia Tech, a brother Caleb, is a kicker attending Va Tech, his parents and grandfather also are Virginia Tech grads. His top college choices are East Carolina University, Virginia Tech, or the University of South Carolina.
